The opening ceremony of the fi1h edition of the Industry Championship of Professional Skills (AtomSkills-2020), which is the biggest corporate championship in the world organized by Rosatom State Atomic Energy Corporation, took place this summer.
For the first time in the history of the championship, all events were held online.
The Program of the opening ceremony was filled with presentation of international experts. Among them, Dr. Roberto La Forgia attended the event as co-founder of BeForPharma and member of the Isotope JSC (entity of Rusatom Healthcare JSC) team. Here is a video of his participation at AtomSkills 2020:
For Rosatom it is an important tool for developing a stimulating environment for the exchange of professional knowledge between representatives of various generations (students, specialists and veterans of the atomic industry), ensuring sustainable development and the achievement of the strategic objectives of the Russian multinational company.
Indeed, AtomSkills achievements significantly increase the prestige and status of professionals working in the atomic industry. Also for this reason, Dr. La Forgia was particularly honored by this new recognition.

Participants discussed how essential it can be to make the most of the potential of their employees, who are the main players in developing a favorable business environment, and on the challenges that large international companies face today. In addition, the importance of promoting projects in the field of education and training aimed at stimulating entrepreneurship was highlighted.
“For me this is an exciting environment – states Roberto La Forgia – I would like to thank first and foremost the ROSATOM family and the Isotope team for giving me the opportunity to be part of this stimulating nuclear medicine program aimed at fighting cancer… The fact that I am the only foreigner in the nuclear medicine sector is proof of how much I believe in Rosatom’s ability. Many people think that different cultures, approaches and languages are obstacles – for me they represent a plus. All this allows you to carry out a project by observing it from different perspectives, thus reducing its margins of error”.
Subsequently, Dr. La Forgia expressed himself specifically on the topics of the discussion: “We must put people at the center of everything. They run a company thanks to their ideas, their talent and their passion. You have to put the right people in the right place: this is the secret. Human resources play an important role in the success of a company. I would say that also teamwork is a key. My experience as an Italian employee within a Russian company was completely different from previous experiences with Italian companies. One of the reasons is precisely the collaboration within the research team and the ability to predict mistakes and deal with them in the best possible way once they arise. There are always problems in a company, but the approach to them can make a real difference. Mistake is part of growth and if it is dealt with in the best way, the positive development of research comes by itself. Finally, to make this happen, there is a need to rely on other people: trust in people’s abilities pushes them to give more and to come out of their comfort zone”.
